Research - "Kiss the Girl"_Film_Trailer_Anaylsis

(Created by Ryan Wood)

Mise en scene is strongly used in this film trailer. Within the first 3 seconds it fades from red to dark images this entails that there is going to be death involved. it connotes that red means death and anger. this occurs throughout the trailer of flashes of red, this is to show death to the audience and then after flashes of red in scene it flashes read then goes to a murder scene. Red can also resemble evil. this can mean in the trailer that bad things will be happening. camera work is very unique because in the trailer there is lots of close ups which is meant to make the audience feel costriphobic, as this plays on the emotions of the viewer. what is very clever with this trailer is the editing and the sound. In one scene what occurs is that white flashes occur to the sound of a camera being taken the it converts to a scene of a camera with someone forensic individual is taking pictures.

Iconography elements in a crime thriller consist off weapons (kinves or guns), police tape, forensic teams, police officers, cut out newspapers of important information, court room for an interview of a someone that escaped. with all these elements above it shows in the film trailer. this is to start to show the audience what os going to occur throughout the trailer and then the film.
